[friday favorites]

It's been some kind of week. You'll notice what I mean when you see my favorites.

My goal was more on surviving the week than necessarily enjoying it. So glad I made it through!!! My favorites are the things that got me through the week and here they are!

A friend came over one night that I craved chocolate and brought some Dark Chocolate Hershey's Kisses. They are the perfect amount of dark and a few is really all you need.

I haven't bought wine in a very long time, but my parents brought this Newman's Own Cabernet Sauvignon last time they came down. I'm pretty sure it's a fairly medium priced wine. Plus who doesn't love a brand where all proceeds go to charity?

Have a great weekend all!

[plateau]

So I've been going through a bit of a rough patch lately. Emotionally, I'm drained. Mentally, I'm exhausted. Physically, I'm beat. The worst part is when you get into a rut of not working out, you become lethargic, making you less inclined to get started again. For me it's mostly a time management thing, but it's also become an emotional thing. Plus I'm apartment hunting. You try working full time, having a 1.5 hour commute every day, and finding apartments. It's not easy to have energy to work out after that; I get home and pass out. These next few weeks are going to be busy and rough for me. I'm going to try to get motivated again, but we'll see. Right now i'm mentally and physically at a plateau. So here's to getting back into a routine.

[springing for shoes]

So spring time means fresh pedicures, light clothing and sandals. The funny thing is that it's always hot here anyway, but we don't really wear sandals and wedges until spring comes around. In the spirit of the season [and of a new wardrobe!!!] I went shoe shopping the other day. I DIED with how many things I found [and couldn't afford]. But still. And of course, my forever faithful Nordstrom Rack had some great choices [that I will be back for].

I didn't take any home, but here are my top choices for spring and the beginning of summer!

What shoes will you be buying this spring???

[AWOL]

So I've been gone a while. Anytime I'm gone or kind of fall off the face of the planet like that, it's a sign that something is up. I got kind of carried away and caught up in some stuff that took up all my spare time. I was literally living out of my car and staying with friends for a week. Upside down and topsy turvy don't even begin to describe things. Up until today, I hadn't worked out in like a week and a half, hadn't been keeping track of my spending and hadn't been organized at all when it came to what I was eating. If you know me, you know this basically means everything was a mess and I was feeling all over the place. [I hate when life takes over that way.]

BUT! I'm BACK!!!

I'm back at home, my family that was visiting is gone, so I'm able to focus and get organized again.  So. Here's to doing things right again.

See you Monday!!!

[wednesday]

I feel like I've had to really segment this week in my brain. I wake up each day not knowing what day it is. It's like the days are running together and life is getting ahead of me and I'm struggling to catch up. It's a good thing though - it means I'm keeping busy and having fun and that work is hectic. It also means it's that much harder to work out and eat right. Planning has been key. But I let life totally get away from me last week and I ended the week feeling horrible. So NO MORE. This week I meal planned, packed workout clothes for every day and made sure to keep it going. NO EXCUSES. Unfortunately though, that means this blog post is last minute and lackluster [sorry!] I'll do better next time!

[monday]

I have been a bad, bad blogger. Last week was a complete mess. Of course, I said that last Monday and then again on Wednesday, so I'm not sure why I'm surprised. I'm not sure what happened, but after Wednesday the days started running together. I overslept twice, didn't have an appetite for two days and then Sunday I was a bottomless pit. Let's just say my body is craving some routine right now. [Which is something apparently Lindsay Lohan and I have in common - we both crave routine and set things to do!!! Did anyone else watch Lindsay on OWN?!?!]

Anywho. Obviously I'm still playing catch up as far as laundry, errands and things I was supposed to have done last week, but I have today off and I promise I will be back in full force on Wednesday. In the meantime, here's a song I'm loving right now (and happen to be listening to right now too!)

[it is sooooo hump day]

Today feels like the most hump day-ish of hump days. I'm so over this week and basically just need my two days off. I have SO MUCH TO DO. Plus I hate how irregular my workout schedule has been. PLUS: there is a candy conference happening at my work and I've been snacking on jelly beans and Twix all week [believe me, I hate myself for it].

SO. As some inspiration for myself, I'm going to online shop for workout clothes. Here are some picks I may have to pick up for myself.

[it's a new week]

Happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a great weekend and I hope you're all geared up and ready to take on the week - I know I am!!!

This week is kind of wobbly for me: my work schedule fluctuates daily and I'm working overtime so I didn't really get my normal allotted time to meal plan and prepare. That being the case, I was feeling overwhelmed last night. BUT I got everything handled and now I'm ready to tackle Monday and the rest of the week.

I'm doing my best to try and work out every day, even though I can't really get in a routine this week. But for a little inspiration, here's what today's workout looks like. It'll be post work, on the beach.

Warm - up: Walk 1/4 Mile.
Jog 2 miles
Cool - down: Walk 1/4 Mile.
